Highlights of 09

Well, as you all know I perform lots of kids shows and corporate events and weddings every year and the result is a few repeat bookings and lots of courtesy thank you e-mails.
Now this year, I have 2 highlights, and neither has been performing for celebrities or beautiful women no no no,
1) A small boy of maybe 5 yrs old approached me with his dad while I was waited for a train. He proceeded to pretend to pluck a coin from his ear and pretend to throw it at me. Now to most of you this is super weird but this is a routine I perform in my children's act and this child had remembered me from 6 months ago at a kids party where he was used as a volunteer to throw coins in the bucket!! NOW that is the power of magic.
2) My second highlight was that I performed at a very tasteful wedding at Layer Marney near Colchester for Mark and Beckie. Now when I say tasteful, it really was, great weather, great location, great music, great food, and great friends.
Anyway, not only did I get a thank you e-mail but months and months down the line when all was forgotten I received a Christmas card in the post from them thanking me again for performing at their wedding. What lovely people.
Now if that isn't 100% evidence that there are still stacks of genuinely great people left in the world, I don’t know what is.

Christmas Carol

So this weekend while what seems to be hundres of magic shows I managed to fit in a trip to the Cinema to see the new Jim Carrey animation film 'A Christmas Carol'.

It took me ages to realise that it was all animated as it was done so cleverly and it was very similar to the original books and film.

All in all pretty good to make you feel festive. Worth a look

Jerry's Nugget playing card fakes!

Well through the years I have seen decks of the Jerry's Nugget cards sell for £50 a deck up wards. A brick of 12 decks recently sold for $1500 +
To cut a long story short, the Jerry Nugget casino in Vegas closed down and the decks where sold off in limited quanities.
Surfing through the net has revealed that there are people out there printing these cards out and selling them though ebay. Shame on them. Here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LocMnE-KEU8
